A few years back I started what I call The Christmas Card Campaign!!! Tomorrow starts this special event here at the shop. Each year I tell this story...
Many of you don’t know this but as a little girl my family and I spent some time at Rainbow Babies Children’s Hospital in Cleveland during a holiday. While we were there people from our community sent cards and a daily ritual that mom and I had was to open the get well cards together. Those few minutes helped us escape from what was happening around us. As my prognosis was not life threatening, unlike the children at St. Jude’s, my heart is pulled now more than ever, since I have become a mother, to give a little back. I can’t imagine what it must feel like for those families in Memphis, so my hope is to lift these children spirits a bit, even if only it is for one second.
As fate would have it, we got a St. Jude envelope in the mail and it said send a Christmas card to a child at the hospital. I immediately thought "how can we send more than just one card"? So I thought of you my awesome customers. I know some of you will be in for the holidays to buy presents for your loved ones or for yourself. The true reason for the season is to GIVE, So because you are all so loyal to this little shop I’m giving you a percentage off your purchases for simply filling out a Christmas card that I PROVIDE for a child who needs a smile this holiday season. Also I will send a portion of your sales, from my December sales, to St. Jude’s along with your cards. So while you are out shopping grab a pack of stickers, small journal, a pack of crayons or all and come in to the shop in the next couple of weeks.
I truly hope that you come and participate in this Christmas Card Campaign and I am proud to say THIS IS AN ANNUAL EVENT at Olive Grace Studios!!!! I love that over the weekend at the Tea Party so many of you asked when the card campaign was going to start! When the world feels a little crazy and I think about our children… I think of all the helpers. A sheet of stickers and a box of crayons really do bring joy and I am over joyed by our little community and what we do!!! Shop hours are posted in the picture above. I hope to see you soon…
